Keep Your Dog Groomed

You want to keep your dog healthy by keeping him properly groomed. First buy shampoo to keep your dog neat and clean. In the winter months you do not want to shampoo your dog too much. If you shampoo your dog too much during the winter you will dry out his skin. Summertime you may need to shampoo your dog more often. Dogs tend to roll in dirt and mud and may accidentally get into things that require a fresh shampoo.

Once your dog is shampooed, keep him warm with a towel or soft blanket. You may choose to use a blow dryer on your dog to help dry the fur quicker.

You can trim your dog’s nails at this time with dog nail clippers. Give your dog the full spa treatment! Keep your dog’s nails trimmed so they do not get snagged on the carpeting or other materials. When a dog snags his toenail it can be very painful.

Depending on your dog’s fur you may want to brush your dog before or after the shampoo bath. Some dog’s fur requires being brushed both times when receiving a bath.
