Southwest Airlines now allows patrons to travel with their small dogs in the cabin. Only stipulation is that the dog is in a carrier and stowed away underneath your seat. The airline allows one carrier per person and it counts as a carry-on bag. It does come with an additional $75.00 fee one way.

That's good for the pet owner but I wonder what happens if it's a yapper. That could make for a long flight. Don't get me wrong, I have 2 dogs of my own. There's no way I would travel with either of them stowed beneath my seat. They would insist on being out and playing with everyone.
