How to select the right orthopedic dog bed for your Dog
Many of the same high quality materials, like memory foam, orthopedic foam, and heating elements found in human equivalents now can be found in orthopedic pet beds.
There are many choices in orthopedic dog beds making it very difficult for you to know which one is the correct choice for your dog. Consider these tips when making your choice.
1. Purchase the correct size of bed for your dog. Dog beds come in various sizes and it is better to have a bigger bed than a smaller one. Your dog should be able to stretch out fully while sleeping on the bed without the fear of him falling off.
2. Do you want your orthopedic dog bed to be heated? Many of the orthopedic dog beds come with the heated option. If you have an older dog with arthritis, a heated bed can give him much comfort. The heat will provide him relief from his painful and stiff joints. If you have a new litter of puppies, a heated bed can provide them with warmth and a sense of security especially while mom is away for a while.
3. Consider the size and shape you want for your dog bed. Consider where the dog bed will be located and which shape and size can be a space saver for you.
4. Make sure you purchase an orthopedic dog bed that has a removable and washable cover. This makes it possible to keep your dog’s bed fresh and clean making it a much healthier environment for your dog.
5. Price is a major consideration. Some of the higher end orthopedic dog beds can cost several hundred dollars, but remember you get what you pay for. If these are too expensive, you can find some great dog beds for fewer than fifty dollars. Remember cheaper dog bed may end up costing you more in the end because due to having to be replaced frequently. A high quality orthopedic dog bed should last for years if properly take care. There are replacement covers available for those beds that have removable covers.

I was considering putting Missy to sleep because her arthritis was getting worse. It seemed to help if she laid in the sun. That's when I went looking for a heated bed and found your site. I can't wait for it to arrive. I know Missy is going to love it and I hope it helps her too.
ReplyDeleteThere may be something wrong with this picture. I'm going to order my dog a heated orthopedic bed but I don't have one! Of course, I'm younger than my dog too. I know he will totally appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThe heated option is fantastic. Our elderly dog loves it. She still plays a little and then relaxes on her nice warm orthopedic bed.
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping to keep our dog as comfortable as possible!

ReplyDeleteOur dog loves his orthopedic bed. Thank you! He sleeps through the night now instead of waking up and coming into our bedroom--to wake us up!
