Do you talk to your dog on the phone via answering machine when you are away or if someone is babysitter and hands the phone to your dog? For fun-how many dog owners do you think “talk” to their dog? I love the Lassie TV episodes. I heard that Lassie was a male dog. Is this true?

In the winter, how do dogs keep themselves really warm?

According to the American Kennel Club says that Cocker Spaniels are the smallest member of the sporting dog family.

My dog will not stop sneezing! Should I take him to the vet? Yes, you should take your dog to the vet for excessive sneezing. Other signs and symptoms include taking your dog to the vet are vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, coughing, or abnormal discharge from eyes. Each one of these items can indicate a health problem in your dog.

I know I cannot give my dog chicken bones to chew on, but can I give her steak bones?

No, do not give your dog steak bones. Your dog can chew off little pieces of bone that can scratch her insides. Your dog can also choke on steak bones. Your dog will be safe with a chew bone from the pet store or discount store.

Your Questions Answered About Your Dog

Why do some dog’s chase cars? Dogs that like to chase cars have learned that cars run away. This is reinforced every time a dog chases the car away.

How can I teach my dog to catch a ball?
If you are trying and trying to teach your dog to catch a ball without success, try throwing a soft piece of fabric or other soft item. Some dogs find this easier. Once your dog gets good at catching the piece of fabric, move onto trying to catch a ball.

Why shouldn’t I stare directly into the eyes of a strange dog? Many dogs take staring directly into the eyes as a challenge and you may encourage him or her to bite you.

A family member in my house is allergic to dogs, do I have to get rid of my dog?
You can try bathing your dog every week. Your dog will shed less dry skin by doing so. It may help to add a teaspoon of cooking oil to your dog’s meal. (Extra virgin olive oil is the best cooking oil to use.)
